The reasons why we carry huge handbags are many...

One, its more of a security feeling - of needing something and finding it with u, then and there..there could arise occasions when u want something - like a face wash and a sunscreen; but u have to make do without it, coz u r carrying a smaller bag...and that can be really very upsetting...it affects the entire day...and as a result, it affects the work that u do..

Two, its also to discuss with other gal pals about the latest stuff launched by Mac or Maybelline and how u wouldnt mind sharing them....(depends from person to person, though..)

Third, its more of a fashion trend....large bags look good....:-)

What I like about every Apple product is proactive thinking and amazing creativity in ergonomics while shaping the entire product line. I am also a happy and satisfied user of IPhone for last few months and every time I use it I cant stop thinking about how clear the leader of this business is about the product he is building and how clearly he understands his customers.

I am sure all Steve Job Fans will love to watch this it is really amazing http://www.ted.com/talks/steve_jobs_how_to_live_before_you_die.html

Eye for detail and thinking from customer's perspective is very important in any business. many businesses thrive only because they are led by CEOs who understand importance of seeing their product and services through their customers spectacles.
Simplicity in business models and utter user friendliness are the two major factors which will help entrepreneurs and SMBs to create niche for themselves .

Very well written Alok. Most of your comparisons would wave of the confusions about choosing a name. Cheers.

This is so true. I just received one SMS from Vodafone telling me that I was active on Vodafone Radio Service and I will be charged Rs. 50 from 4th Jan 2010 for it. Thankfully I could unsubscribe by just sending a message to the operator.

Funny, sad & true. It's not only limited to emerging markets, but is also true for the west. Here in the US also, a number of such services exist simply because it is too painful for the customer to have them removed.

Ever wonder why the service sign up is online, but often the only way to get it disconnected is via a call to the call center or visit to the local office. We probably need a law that mandates the businesses to enable disconnects / revision by all the channels that allow sign up.

Maybe there is an opportunity for a service which can legitimately represent the customer & deal with the call center barrier on our behalf. What if we could pay (say Rs. 100) to have someone do the honors in this particular case?

While something like that happens, have fun with melodious Bollywood tunes ;-)

The post was not to resolve the situation but to raise a voice about how VAS and Telcos are cheating consumers. It was also to get people to hear that consumers are not deaf...err... in this case they will soon become :-)

Hmm.. I completely agree with the upmarket mafias running in telecom and other services companies.
But I really wonder why you cant take little time to get it disabled if you spend time to write and rant about it in this blog post!
